Alfredo Salazar captured in Bolivia for border smuggling

Argentine national Alfredo Salazar has been captured in Tarija, Bolivia, following an international arrest warrant related to smuggling and illicit association. Salazar is the owner of Finca Karina, a property located in Argentina near the border with Bolivia that authorities identify as a strategic point for the illegal movement of undeclared goods and vehicles.

The arrest was a coordinated effort involving intelligence units from both Bolivia and Argentina, as well as Interpol. Following his capture, Salazar was extradited through the Aguas Blancas-Bermejo International Pass and handed over to Argentine authorities. A federal judge in Orán, Gustavo Montoya, has ordered preventive detention for Salazar.

Investigations are expanding to determine the full scope of the smuggling network. Local officials in Aguas Blancas have reported video evidence allegedly showing a bus from the San Antonio company loading packages at Finca Karina. This evidence will be presented to federal prosecutors to investigate potential links between transport companies and the illegal trade operations at the border.
