Alfàs del Pi municipal library expands graphic novel collection by 42% for summer readers

The Municipal Library of Alfàs del Pi has increased its graphic‑novel catalogue by 42% over the past ten years, now offering 4,618 titles. The adult section grew from 1,834 to 3,289 volumes (a 44.23% rise) while the children‑and‑youth area expanded from 815 to 1,329 titles (a 38.67% rise). Councilor for Culture Manuel Casado said the genre is enjoying an extraordinary moment and the library aims to keep the collection updated to meet growing demand, especially during the summer holidays when readers of all ages turn to graphic novels. The expanded catalogue includes classic comics, contemporary works, manga, biographies and adaptations, providing a diverse selection for leisure reading in the warm season.
