Algar launches digital mobile subscription plan in Brazil

Algar has launched ‘Algar Muito Mais’, its first fully digital mobile telephony plan featuring a monthly subscription model via credit card. The plan costs R$ 35 per month and provides 40 GB of data, unlimited calls and WhatsApp usage, and 500 SMS.

By utilizing recurring credit card payments, the service aims to bridge the gap between traditional prepaid and postpaid plans, eliminating the need for manual recharges. The entire customer journey, including contracting, number portability, and adding new lines, can be managed through the company’s app. Users can also opt for eSIM activation for immediate use or request a physical SIM card for home delivery.

Initially, the service is available in Minas Gerais, the interior of São Paulo, and Goiás. Algar intends to expand the offering to the rest of Brazil by the end of 2026, positioning itself to compete more directly with major operators such as Vivo, Claro, and TIM.
