Algarve Pro Racing wins LMP2 class at wet Silverstone ELMS race

Algarve Pro Racing secured their first LMP2 victory in the European Le Mans Series since 2023 at the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone. Drivers Ben Barnicoat, Jake Hughes, and Matthias Kaiser led the team to victory despite heavy rain that forced strategic changes mid-race.

In the LMP2 Pro-Am class, the TDS Racing Oreca, driven by Steven Thomas, Sami Meguetounif, and Scott Huffaker, took the win. The LMP3 category was won by R-ace GP with drivers Fabien Michal, Pierre-Alexandre Provost, and Hugo Schwarze, which narrowed the championship gap to 9 points heading into the season finale.

The LMGT3 class saw a historic result as Team Qatar by Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG won, marking the first ELMS LMGT3 victory for Mercedes-AMG and the first ELMS win for a Qatari driver, Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi. The win placed Team Qatar by Iron Lynx three points ahead of TF Sport in the championship standings.
