Algarve sees hotel renovations and new coastal walkways
The Algarve region in Portugal is seeing significant developments in tourism and coastal management. Octant Praia Verde has completed an extensive renovation of its boutique hotel, introducing the Praia Collection. This expansion includes 19 new rooms and suites, a new spa and wellness area, two new pools, a gym, and redesigned dining spaces.
Simultaneously, a new pedestrian walkway has opened in the Castro Marim municipality, connecting Praia Verde Lago in Altura to Praia Verde. This infrastructure project, a public-private partnership involving the Portuguese Environment Agency, aims to protect the dune system by organizing pedestrian access and reducing trampling of the ecosystem. The walkway also features elevated sections to facilitate emergency vehicle access to the beach.
