Algeciras hosts Feria de los Parques Naturales until May 30

The historic Plaza Alta in Algeciras, Spain, became the venue for the Feria de los Parques Naturales de Cádiz from May 26 through May 30. Organized by the Algeciras City Council and the Andalusian Ministry of Sustainability and Environment, the free‑entry fair showcases the province’s five natural parks – the Strait, Los Alcornocales, Sierra de Grazalema, La Breña y Marismas del Barbate, and the Bay of Cádiz – through stalls selling local cheeses, honey, cured meats and other artisanal products.

Visitors can attend a programme of workshops and cultural activities without reservation, including a bonsai workshop, a showcooking event featuring park‑sourced ingredients, theatre for children, a Tarzan‑themed parade and musical, a popular paella, and various games and health‑focused sessions. Educational stands provide maps, guides and interactive displays on flora, fauna and sustainable practices.

The fair aims to promote the natural heritage of the protected areas, encourage tourism, and foster community engagement with environmental conservation.
