Algeciras launches new tourism campaign to boost hotel occupancy
The Algeciras City Council has introduced a new tourism campaign titled ‘Bienvenido a Algeciras. La ciudad que enamoró al sol’ (Welcome to Algeciras. The city that fell in love with the sun). Mayor José Ignacio Landaluce presented the initiative, which aims to strengthen the municipality's promotion and increase hotel occupancy rates.
The campaign utilizes eleven roll-up advertising displays featuring photographs from the second photography contest organized by local promoter Javier Ortega in collaboration with the City Council. Each photograph includes a QR code that directs users to the municipal portal, providing detailed information about the specific locations pictured.
These displays will be installed in hotels and municipal buildings with high foot traffic to showcase the city's attractions to both visitors and residents. The initiative highlights cooperation between the public sector and private entities to drive local tourism growth.
