Algeciras repairs CEIP Blanca de los Ríos school following storms

The Algeciras City Council is conducting repair and improvement works at the CEIP Blanca de los Ríos school to prevent water leaks caused by recent storms. The current intervention has a budget of 38,912.52 euros and focuses on waterproofing, repairing cornices, lintels, and window openings, as well as filling vertical and horizontal expansion joints.

Workers are currently chipping away deteriorated coatings, cleaning oxidized elements, and sealing cracks with special mortars and sealants. These efforts follow a previous project completed in April, which cost 35,564.96 euros to address the school's inverted roof. In total, the investment in the school over recent months exceeds 74,000 euros.

Local officials, including Deputy Mayors Javier Vázquez Hueso and Yéssica Rodríguez, inspected the progress to ensure the facilities are ready before the new school year begins. A subsequent phase is planned to address the integral coating of the building's facade.
