Alger Metro service adjustments begin Aug 7 2026

The Société d'exploitation du Métro d'Alger (SEMA) announced a revision of the metro line’s operating plan starting Friday 7 August 2026 as part of a technical maintenance programme. Direct trips will run between Aïn Naâdja and Place des Martyrs in both directions, temporarily replacing the previous route that linked El Harrach Centre to Place des Martyrs.

Passengers traveling to Bachdjerrah‑Tennis, Bachdjerrah, El Harrach Station and El Harrach Centre must transfer at Haï El Badr, changing trains and platforms. Specific guidance notes that travelers from El Harrach to Place des Martyrs should use platform 1 via stairs, while those heading the opposite way should use platform 3.

SEMA also extended daily operating hours to 23:00 throughout the summer of 2026 and urged riders to follow signage, audio announcements and staff instructions during the maintenance period.
