Algeria and Chad implement new agricultural and administrative reforms

Algeria has officially established the National Council for Agricultural Mechanization through executive decree n° 26-296. Operating under the authority of the Prime Minister or Head of Government, the council is tasked with proposing a national strategy and roadmap to coordinate agricultural mechanization policies. Key objectives include improving farm productivity, facilitating access to modern equipment, and supporting agricultural cooperatives. The council will also focus on smart mechanization, precision agriculture, and the local manufacturing of equipment adapted to Algerian climatic conditions.

In Chad, a presidential decree has announced key leadership appointments for several public entities. Laouken Kourayo Medard has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Agency for Rural Development Support (ANADER). Dr. Dairour Youssouf Sidiki will lead the Chadian Institute for Agronomic Research for Development (ITRAD), while Dr. Abderahim Younous Ali has been appointed to head the Society for Land and Real Estate Promotion (SOPROFIM). These appointments aim to strengthen administrative structures in the agronomic, rural development, and land management sectors.
