Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire advance digital public service initiatives

Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire are advancing national digital transformation initiatives to modernize public administration and service delivery.

In Algeria, the public works and infrastructure sector has been integrated into the ‘Dzair Digital Service’ (dzds.dz) platform. This allows operators to electronically submit files and track professional qualifications, company classifications, and private study office approvals remotely. The move aims to reduce administrative delays and increase transparency. This follows the recent integration of water resource services, including remote requests for drinking water and sanitation network connections.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the government has identified 59 high-impact public services for priority digitization following a national workshop in Abidjan. Organized by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation and the National Information Development Company (SNDI), the initiative aims for a ‘zero paper’ administration. Priority projects include digital diploma authentication, digital proof of life for retirees, and computerized patient records. The strategy focuses on building essential shared infrastructures such as digital identity, data exchange, and a unified payment gateway to resolve current interoperability issues.
