Algeria and Spain hold political consultations in Madrid
Algeria and Spain are advancing their diplomatic rapprochement through a new session of political consultations held in Madrid. The meeting was co-chaired by Lounès Magramane, Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his Spanish counterpart, Diego Martinez Belío.
Discussions focused on the current state of bilateral relations, regional and international dossiers, and preparations for the upcoming 8th High-Level Meeting between the two nations in Madrid. The delegations reviewed several draft agreements and memorandums of understanding intended for signature during that summit to consolidate cooperation and identify new partnership axes.
Economic cooperation was also a central theme. Both parties noted the growth in trade and emphasized the need to strengthen productive investment in Algeria, highlighting opportunities within the Algerian market and the provisions of its new investment law.
