Algeria begins exceptional electoral list revision for local elections

The exceptional revision of electoral lists has commenced in preparation for the local elections scheduled for November 28, 2026. This process, which aims to elect members of the Communal People's Assemblies (APC) and Wilaya People's Assemblies (APW), will run from September 6 until Thursday, September 17.

Saad Arous, president of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), launched the operation from the Tipasa province. The ANIE has called upon citizens who are not currently registered, as well as those who will turn 18 by the day of the vote, to register at their local municipal revision commissions.

Eligible voters must provide an identity document and proof of residence. Those who have moved to a new residence are also encouraged to update their registration at their new location. Registration and verification can also be conducted online via the official ANIE website. Municipal revision offices will remain open daily from 09:00 to 16:30 throughout the revision period.
