Algeria expands appliance and electronics exports to six new markets
Algeria is expanding its domestic appliance and electronics manufacturing presence into international markets. Recent export operations have launched from the industrial hubs of Sétif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and El Tarf, targeting six new regional markets including Tunisia, Mauritania, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, and Mali.
In El Tarf, officials including Abderrahmane Saâdi, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Trade, oversaw the shipment of ten containers of appliances, such as refrigerators and air conditioners, produced by the company Biolux destined for Tunisia. Similar shipments of dishwashers and other electronic goods have also departed from Sétif.
These initiatives are part of a national economic policy aimed at diversifying the economy by increasing non-hydrocarbon exports and supporting local industrial investment. The expansion highlights the growing competitiveness of Algerian-made household goods in the regional market.
