Algeria expands baccalaureate orientation options to 12 choices for 2026 graduates

The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that students graduating from the June 2026 baccalaureate will be able to list up to 12 university program choices on their orientation form, an increase from the previous range of 6 to 10. Ali Chokri, director‑general of teaching and training, detailed a two‑phase registration schedule: preliminary enrollment from 15–19 July, confirmation from 20–22 July, with processing and analysis of applications occurring 23–29 July. Orientation results will be published on the evening of 30 July, and final enrollment will run online from 5–10 August after payment of a 200‑dinar tuition fee.

The ministry also introduced a new electronic platform that replaces the traditional 200‑page PDF student guide, consolidating information on available fields of study, institutions, curricula, admission conditions and deadlines. The national baccalaureate success rate was reported at 56.18 %.
