Algeria files FIFA complaint after Argentina loss, prepares for World Cup clash with Jordan

The Algerian Football Federation has lodged an official complaint with FIFA over two refereeing decisions in its 3-0 defeat to Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, a match in which Lionel Messi scored a hat‑trick. The federation cited a challenge by Messi on defender Issa Mandi in the 31st minute and a controversial incident in the 74th minute, and is awaiting a response from FIFA while continuing its group‑stage preparations.

Meanwhile, the Jordan national team held a press conference in San Francisco ahead of its Group 10 encounter with Algeria. The conference took place at 2:30 pm local time on Sunday, followed by a training session open to the media. Jordan’s 26‑player squad for the tournament was named, and the team will travel to San Francisco Bay Arena for the match scheduled for 6 am on Tuesday, 23 June, Jordan time.
