Algeria inaugurates mechatronics center and launches ISO 21001 project
Algerian Minister of Vocational Education and Training, Nasima Arhab, inaugurated a mechatronics excellence center in Oran and announced the official launch of the first phase of the ISO 21001 international standard implementation project. This initiative aims to modernize management, governance, and quality culture within vocational training institutions.
The project follows a gradual approach involving training, testing, and evaluation. The first phase has concluded the assessment of 11 model institutions, including the mechatronics center in Belkaid, alongside seven pedagogical engineering centers and four national vocational training institutes. This phase is designed to establish best practices and build an institutional experience for future nationwide expansion.
Additionally, a partnership agreement was signed between the Moujahida Zeuan Yamina Excellence Center in Belkaid and the Vehicle Industry Development Enterprise (EDIV), which operates under the Ministry of National Defense. This collaboration focuses on enhancing cooperation in vehicle manufacturing and maintenance, specifically developing specialized training in automotive mechatronics to align trainee skills with labor market requirements.
