Algeria inaugurates new quality control laboratories at port and airport

Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb inaugurated two new quality analysis laboratories at the Port of Algiers and Algiers International Airport on Saturday, November 7. Developed by the Ministry of National Defense, these facilities are designed to inspect imported goods for compliance with safety and quality standards before they reach consumers.

The new laboratories aim to significantly reduce inspection times. Previously, quality control processes could take between 24 and 72 hours, or even several days. With the new equipment, results are expected to be available within a few hours, a move the Prime Minister noted is intended to save time and economic resources.

These installations follow instructions from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to establish a nationwide network of control laboratories. The government plans to expand this system to include all other ports and airports across the country to detect fraud and protect public health.
