In Algeria, various cultural and institutional events are being held to observe Mawlid Ennabaoui, focusing on both social rights and heritage preservation.
At the Djamaâ El-Djazaïr cultural center, a conference titled ‘Child rights between prophetic methodology and national legislation’ was organized in coordination with the National Body for the Protection and Promotion of Children. Participants, including Rector Cheikh Mohamed Maâmoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini and national delegate Meriem Cherfi, discussed the importance of integrating religious principles with national legal frameworks to protect children. The discussion emphasized a collective responsibility involving families, schools, mosques, and state institutions.
In Tlemcen, the Abdelkrim Dali Culture Palace has inaugurated an exhibition titled ‘Scents of the Sira, our heritage tells’. The event showcases traditional customs, including artisanal crafts, traditional clothing such as the ‘Chedda’, jewelry, and culinary traditions. The exhibition aims to preserve local heritage and educate younger generations on the customs associated with the Mawlid Ennabaoui celebrations.
