Algeria pursues RC Lens talent Meziane Mesloub

Meziane Mesloub, a 16-year-old attacking midfielder for RC Lens, has drawn significant international attention following standout performances in the Champions League. After providing a decisive assist against Slavia Prague, Mesloub has become one of the youngest players in the competition's history to record an assist at his age.

Born in France to former Algerian international Walid Mesloub, the player holds triple nationality, offering him the choice to represent Algeria, France, or Portugal. He currently plays for Portugal's youth national teams.

The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is actively attempting to recruit the talent. Technical Director Ali Mouçer has reportedly engaged with Walid Mesloub to evaluate the possibility of the player switching his sporting nationality to Algeria. While the FAF is pursuing an ambitious strategy to integrate him into the senior national team, his father has expressed a desire to wait until the player has firmly established his professional career before making a definitive decision.
