Algeria recovers to draw 2-2 against Burundi in AFCON qualifier

Algeria secured a 2-2 draw against Burundi in their second match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

Algeria faced an early deficit after Farés Chaïbi scored an own goal in the fifth minute following a misplaced pass. Burundi extended their lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute after a clearance error by Ramy Bensebaini allowed an opponent to score following a solo run.

Algeria mounted a comeback, highlighted by Adel Boublina, who ended an eight-month international goal drought with a direct free-kick. The goal helped level the score and ensured the match ended in a draw.
