Algeria reports 484,000 enrollments in vocational training

Algeria's Ministry of Vocational Training and Education reported that 484,000 students enrolled for the October 2026 session. Minister Nassima Arhab stated that the curriculum has been updated to align with national and local market needs through a new national competency framework.

To address emerging industries, 23 new specialties have been introduced, focusing on sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and renewable energy. Additionally, 19 training centers have been converted into centers of excellence through partnerships with economic operators to better meet labor market demands.

The ministry is also coordinating with other sectors to prepare a qualified workforce for state infrastructure, public works, and agricultural projects. On an international level, the ministry noted that vocational training has been allocated a significant portion of scholarships intended for partner African and Arab nations.
