The 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, continue with significant medal hauls for several participating nations. Italy maintains its lead in the overall medal standings, having secured 81 total medals, including 29 golds, bolstered by strong performances in swimming and bocce.

Greece has seen notable success, particularly in swimming and wrestling. Swimmer Dimitris Markos achieved a standout performance, winning gold in the 400m freestyle with a new national record, alongside silver and bronze medals in other freestyle events. In wrestling, Giorgos Kougioumtsidis and Dauren Kourougliev secured gold medals.
