Algeria sees tourism growth and prepares for African Startup Conference

Algeria is seeing significant growth in its tourism and technology sectors. In 2025, the country recorded 2.2 million international visitors, ranking it sixth among African tourist destinations. This growth is supported by increased air connectivity and local infrastructure investments, with particular interest noted in Saharan tourism.

In the technology sector, Algiers will host the fifth edition of the African Startup Conference (ASC) from December 5 to 7. This year's event focuses on Deep Tech and is expected to draw over 25,000 visitors and more than 400 exhibitors. The conference aims to connect African and international startups with investors and institutional representatives to discuss innovation, financing, and market access. Key partners for the event include the African Union, Afreximbank, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
