Algeria strengthens border sanitary controls to combat epidemic threats

The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) in Algeria has launched a national training session in Algiers to strengthen sanitary control capacities at border entry points. The initiative aims to bolster defenses against emerging diseases and epidemic threats.

Running until September 22, the program brings together health officials and representatives from various sectors operating at border crossings, including airports. The training focuses on harmonizing practices and improving coordination between services to ensure compliance with International Health Regulations. Professor Bouamra, Director General of the INSP, emphasized that these points of entry serve as the first line of defense in detecting and preventing health risks.
