Algeria U17 national team calls up 23 players for preparation camp
Algeria's U17 national team coach, Amine Ghimouz, has announced a 23-player squad for a training camp at the Tlemcen Regional Technical Center. The camp, scheduled from October 23 to November 1, serves as a critical preparation phase for the upcoming U17 World Cup in Qatar, which begins on November 19.
The squad features a mix of local talent and expatriate players from European clubs. Notable local players include five members from Paradou AC, alongside representatives from USM Alger and JS Kabylie. The expatriate contingent includes Bilal Daaou (Eintracht Frankfurt), Rayane Wassim Zidane (Bayer Leverkusen), Melwane Zaidi (FC Basel), and Ramy Benkhiat.
Ramy Benkhiat, a midfielder from OGC Nice who previously played for the France U16 team, has officially chosen to represent Algeria. Benkhiat, born in 2009, joins the squad following a productive season with Nice's youth ranks. The coaching staff aims to use this camp to build team cohesion and tactical familiarity ahead of the global tournament.
