Algerian Army Seizes Major Cocaine and Psychotropic Shipment

The Algerian army conducted coordinated anti‑drug operations in the southern regions of Béchar, Adrar and Timimoun. The raids resulted in the seizure of 45 kg and 357 g of cocaine, 59,997 psychotropic tablets, and four tourist vehicles used for transport. Five individuals were arrested during the operations, which were highlighted by the Ministry of National Defense as part of ongoing efforts against organized crime and drug trafficking.

These actions follow earlier interceptions by security forces, underscoring heightened vigilance and inter‑unit coordination in combating transnational narcotics networks in Algeria.
