Algerian cyclists perform strongly at Tour du Faso 2026

Algerian cyclists have achieved significant results during the 37th edition of the Tour du Faso in Burkina Faso. During the fourth stage in Bobo-Dioulasso, Hamza Amari secured third place on a 116.10 km circuit, while Yacine Hamza earned the green jersey for the points classification.

In the fifth stage, covering 131.32 km between Bobo-Dioulasso and Pâ, Oussama Mimouni finished second, narrowly losing a sprint to Burkina Faso’s Saturnin Yaméogo. This follows previous successes for the Algerian delegation, including two stage wins by Yacine Hamza in the second and third stages.

In the general classification, South African Gustav Basson holds the yellow jersey after the previous leader, Tom Wijfje, was forced to abandon following a crash. Burkina Faso’s Soumaïla Ilboudo remains a top contender in the overall standings.
