Algerian Education Minister Sets August Deadline for Teacher Recruitment Results

Algerian Education Minister Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui chaired a national video conference on the preparation for the 2026‑27 school year. He stressed the urgency of completing all administrative steps for the teacher recruitment contest and gave a strict deadline of 12:00 p.m. on 4 August 2026 for regional directors to clear any remaining reservations. The minister said results would be announced nationally shortly thereafter, ahead of the school year start scheduled for 6 September 2026.

Saadaoui also announced the introduction of computer science as a subject for certain second‑ and third‑year secondary tracks, requiring adjustments in staffing and resources. Additional focus was placed on ensuring school meals, a health‑week program, and secure learning environments are ready for the upcoming term.
