Algerian Euro Black Market Falls as Morocco Dirham Rates Adjust

In Algeria's informal foreign‑exchange market, the euro weakened sharply, reaching 27,500 dinars per 100 € on 28 July 2026, down from 27,600 two days earlier and 250 dinars lower than a week before. Traders blamed an oversupply of euros and newly stricter regulations introduced by the Algerian Ministry of Finance that tighten import‑export controls on foreign currency.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s central bank, Bank Al‑Maghrib, released the official exchange rates for 29 July, setting the euro buying price at 10.1512 dirhams and the selling price at 11.7974 dirhams, alongside rates for the US dollar, Canadian dollar, pound sterling and other currencies.
