Algerian Football Federation restructures national team staff
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is undergoing a significant restructuring of its national team management following the 2026 World Cup cycle. FAF President Walid Sadi has reached an agreement in principle with former player Moussa Saïb to serve as general manager, overseeing the administrative and managerial aspects of the team.
In addition to Saïb’s appointment, Anthar Yahia has officially signed as an assistant coach. These moves are part of a broader effort to revitalize the national squad as the federation begins the search for a new head coach to succeed Vladimir Petković.
The federation is currently evaluating approximately ten candidates for the head coaching position. Identified names include Spanish coaches Félix Sánchez and Rafael Benítez, as well as Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet. Two additional candidates, one Portuguese and one Italian, remain confidential as the FAF continues its methodical recruitment process.
