Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb extends Lille contract to 2028

Algerian international midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, 31, has signed a new contract with French club Lille OSC that runs until the summer of 2028, putting an end to weeks of transfer speculation. The deal was announced by Lille, with president Olivier Letang highlighting the player's leadership and work ethic, and confirming that the team will be coached by Davide Ancelotti for the upcoming season.

Bentaleb returned to Lille in the summer of 2023 after periods abroad with Tottenham, Newcastle United and clubs in Germany. He missed several months of action after suffering a cardiac episode in the summer of 2024, returned to competition in February 2025, and subsequently played in all four of Algeria's matches at the 2026 World Cup, solidifying his role in both club and country.

The extension secures one of Lille’s key midfielders through 2028 and provides stability as the club prepares for the new campaign.
