Algerian President calls for decolonization at Russia-Africa Summit

During the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune addressed the necessity of eliminating the remaining vestiges of colonialism in Africa to ensure continental security and stability. In a speech delivered by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, the President specifically identified the issue of Western Sahara as a critical factor in this process.

President Tebboune expressed support for the United Nations-led negotiations between the conflicting parties, which resumed earlier this year. He also extended gratitude to the Russian Federation for its consistent support of the right to self-determination and its commitment to the UN-led political process aimed at reaching a just and lasting settlement in accordance with the UN Charter.
