Algeria and Germany deepen partnership, announce Algiers‑Berlin flight

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited Berlin in mid‑July 2026 and, together with German leaders, signed a joint declaration outlining a strategic agenda for the bilateral partnership. The agenda covers six priority fields – political dialogue, economic and trade cooperation, energy and climate projects, security, cultural and scientific exchange, and migration. Both sides highlighted cooperation on hydrogen, gas, renewable energy and the southern hydrogen corridor, and pledged to expand trade, investment and joint research.

During the same visit Tebboune announced that Air Algérie will launch a direct Algiers‑Berlin route in November 2026, part of a fleet renewal that includes about 18 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The new service follows several agreements on energy, industry and technology signed at an Algerian‑German economic forum, and is presented as a step to strengthen ties and support the Algerian diaspora in Germany.
