Algerian robotics team wins gold at FIRST Global Challenge 2026

An Algerian team of five high school students won a gold medal at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026, an international robotics competition held in Incheon, South Korea. The event, which took place from October 7 to 12, 2026, brought together participants from over 190 countries.

The Algerian delegation was supported by Samsung Electronics Algeria and the Altis Training Center. Before the competition, the team was received by Min Kyung-tae, the South Korean Ambassador to Algeria, who commended the students for their international representation. The competition aims to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and foster international cooperation among young scientists through robotics.
