Algete and El Molar propose massive residential expansion

Large-scale residential development projects are being proposed in the Algete and El Molar municipalities. The Algete Norte project involves approximately 1,200 to 1,260 homes, with roughly 51 to 60 percent designated as protected housing.

Simultaneously, El Molar is projecting the construction of 6,530 homes under the SAU 21 plan. Combined, these proposals suggest the addition of over 7,700 new dwellings in the region.

Environmental assessments in Madrid have called for studies regarding the collective impact of these developments on local infrastructure, including water resources, the Guadalix river corridor, and road networks. Specifically, the Regional Transport Consortium has noted that the Algete Norte plan lacks a comprehensive mobility and transport study, particularly regarding access from the A-1 highway.
