Local communities celebrate traditional patron saint festivals

Various municipalities are hosting traditional patron saint festivals and religious celebrations.

In Ibiza, Sant Miquel de Balansat is holding month-long festivities through October, featuring music, sports, and traditional dances like ball pagès. In Argentina, the community in Belén gathered for a spiritual vigil in honor of the Señor del Milagro.

Spanish towns are also active with local traditions: Naval is celebrating the Virgen de los Dolores with traditional games and music; Peque is honoring Nuestra Señora de la Consolación; and Ólvega held a procession for the Santísimo Cristo de la Cruz a Cuestas. In Cantagallo, a theatrical performance dedicated to San Juan de la Cruz was held in the local church.

Other notable events include Algete’s festivities featuring bullfighting activities and music, Mont-roig del Camp’s six-day celebration of Sant Miquel, and Écija’s Feria, which introduced a ‘Rincón de la Calma’ to improve accessibility for neurodivergent individuals. Additionally, Tavernes de la Valldigna organized a charity paella event through Cáritas, raising nearly 1,800 euros.
