Alghassani Hospital to host free cleft lip and palate surgical mission

The Smile Operation Morocco Association will conduct a free humanitarian surgical mission at Alghassani Hospital in Fez, Morocco, from October 30 to November 4, 2026. The initiative, held under the honorary presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, aims to provide reconstructive surgeries for approximately 90 children and young adults born with cleft lip and/or palate.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Fez-Meknes regional health group, the mission will involve over 90 healthcare professionals from Morocco and 12 other countries. The multidisciplinary team includes surgeons, anesthetists, pediatricians, dentists, speech therapists, nurses, and psychologists.

The schedule includes medical examinations and assessments on October 30, followed by surgeries from October 31 to November 3. The final day, November 4, will be dedicated to follow-up examinations to monitor patient recovery.
