Alghero business groups seek meeting over tourism and land concessions

Local representatives from Confcommercio Alghero and FIPE, Massimiliano Cadeddu and Alessandro Pesapane, have requested a meeting with the municipal administration to discuss the management of the tourism sector. While the current summer season has seen record-breaking numbers in hotel and extra-hotel accommodations, exceeding previous years, the surge has strained tourist services, particularly in the catering industry.

The representatives highlighted several issues regarding the management and control of commerce in public areas, specifically concerning public land concessions for bars and restaurants. They noted that current municipal regulations intended to manage concessions have increased bureaucracy rather than simplifying processes, making it difficult for both businesses and control authorities to operate effectively.

While the groups acknowledged the positive work of the municipal police in limiting unauthorized commercial activities in certain areas, they are calling for a streamlined bureaucratic process to better support local businesses and the administration.
