Alghero council debates day‑centre for disabled and ecocentre service tensions

Alghero municipal council members argued over a new day‑centre for people with disabilities. Opposition councillor Giovanna Caria of the Riformatori Sardi praised the identification of a building on via Tarragona as a step forward, but accused Welfare assessor Maria Grazia Salaris of using the issue for political visibility and urged concrete services for families.

Separately, the local ecocentre became a flashpoint. assessor Enrico Daga described a waste‑collection incident where a container was already full and recounted a heated exchange with staff. Fratelli d’Italia (FDI) criticised Daga’s remarks as victim‑seeking, calling for clearer organization, reduced waiting times and better infrastructure at the ecocentre.
