Gaeta: Two officers rescue woman after medical emergency in sea

On Ferragosto, a young woman from Caserta was rescued after suffering a sudden medical emergency while swimming at Piana di Sant’Agostino beach in Gaeta, Latina.

Nicola Scala, a prison police officer off-duty with his family, noticed the woman's distress and attempted to escort her to shore. Before reaching the beach, she lost consciousness. A second officer from Afragola assisted in stabilizing her and clearing her airways.

Medical professionals present on the beach performed emergency procedures, including cardiac massage, while an air ambulance was summoned. The woman was subsequently transported to the Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina. The Sappe union expressed pride in the officers' professional conduct and sense of duty during the incident.
