Alghero faces reports of organized crime infiltration

The political group Riformatori Sardi has called for immediate institutional intervention in Alghero following reports of potential organized crime infiltration in the city. Recent media reports have suggested the presence of illicit capital, the acquisition of commercial activities by criminal elements, drug trafficking, intimidation, and arson.

The group stated that the situation is “too grave to be minimized” and urged security and territorial protection authorities to take responsibility. They have formally questioned competent bodies regarding what investigations are underway concerning capital acquisitions, economic activities, and criminal acts to ensure the safety of citizens and the economic freedom of local entrepreneurs.
