Alghero hosts food and tourism event for social causes

The city of Alghero is hosting the “A Tutto Gusto” gastronomic event at the Mercato Civico from October 23 to 26. Organized by the Chefs Association of the Province of Sassari in collaboration with the Federation of Chefs Sardinia, the festival features show cooking, masterclasses, and competitions for hotel school students, bartenders, and pizzaiolos.

A central component of the event is a roundtable discussion titled “Gastronomic Tourism, Quality and Social in the Alghero Territory.” This session brings together academics, institutional representatives, and industry professionals to discuss the economic development potential of local food production, professional training, and tourism seasonalization.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mondo X Sardegna Association, an organization dedicated to addiction prevention and social reintegration since 1980. The program aims to use gastronomy as a tool for both economic promotion and social inclusion, fostering connections between local producers, restaurateurs, and tourism operators.
