Alghero launches new urban hygiene and waste management contract
The city of Alghero is launching a new urban hygiene contract starting Monday, October 26. The initiative introduces several service updates, including the opening of eco-centers on Sundays and increased street cleaning and washing services.
A significant change involves the implementation of door-to-door waste collection in the Alghero countryside, mirroring the system used in the urban center. The waste collection schedule is also being revised: paper and cardboard will be collected on Tuesdays, glass on Wednesdays, and organic waste on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Additional measures include the installation of 400 new waste bins, an extension of summer services from four to five months, and the establishment of a dedicated front office to assist users. Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto emphasized that while the city has set the conditions for a high-quality service, the success of the program requires cooperation from all citizens.
