Alghero mourns community activist Eleonora Carta

Eleonora Carta, a long‑time resident of Alghero in northern Sardinia, died on 7 August 2026. The mayor, Raimondo Cacciotto, and the entire municipal administration expressed deep condolences, highlighting her generosity, altruism and passion for preserving the historic centre. Carta was celebrated for her active citizenship, her dedication to the city’s decor and social life, and for reporting and proposing solutions to local issues. Local associations also remembered her kindness and commitment to the beauty of Alghero, noting the void left by her passing.
