Alghero and Agrigento officials demand action over utility and infrastructure issues

In Alghero, local councilor Giampietro Moro has called for urgent mayoral intervention following sudden water supply interruptions by Abbanoa. The service cuts, communicated via SMS with minimal notice, affected the historic center during the peak tourist season, raising concerns about economic losses for the hospitality and commercial sectors. Moro noted that similar unannounced disruptions were recently caused by Enel Distribuzione regarding electrical faults.

Separately, in Agrigento, councilor Marcello Fattori and Vincenzo Sicurella have raised alarms regarding chronic flooding and sewage overflows at Viale Cannatello in the Villaggio Mosè area. They are requesting a comprehensive technical audit involving the Municipality, AICA, and Civil Protection to address drainage failures and sewage leaks that occur during heavy rainfall, aiming to prevent further damage to homes and businesses before the rainy season.
