Alghero Park Country Club disputes golf practice denials

Gian Luca Musilli, president of the non-profit Alghero Park Country Club, has criticized the Alghero local administration following the denial of requests to use flowerbeds at the Palacongressi for golf activities. Musilli claims the club has been seeking concrete solutions to practice golf within Alghero since 2017, submitting numerous formal requests across three different municipal administrations.

During a city council meeting, Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto emphasized the importance of sports as an educational tool and stated that no sports societies are currently forced to practice outside the city. However, Musilli countered these statements, noting that the Alghero Park Country Club remains unable to operate locally and has received two recent denials from the current administration regarding the use of green areas in the Maria Pia complex.
