Alghero political group protests Sunday evening parking fines

The Alghero local coordination of the Lega political party has criticized the municipal administration following a wave of parking fines issued on a Sunday evening. The fines were triggered by parking bans implemented at 8:00 PM to facilitate street cleaning operations scheduled for the following morning.

Party representatives, including Giorgio Gadoni, Monica Chessa, Michele Pais, and Salvatore Carta, described the decision as a lack of common sense that ignores the needs of residents, tourists, and local businesses. They argued that since Alghero remains a highly active tourist destination in October, such rigid administrative decisions harm the local economy. The group suggested that implementing the ban later in the evening, such as at 11:00 PM or midnight, would have allowed citizens to enjoy the city center without disrupting cleaning schedules.
