Alghero secures first away victory in Eccellenza championship

Alghero achieved its first away win of the 2026/27 Eccellenza championship with a 3-1 victory against Villasimius at the Is Casas stadium.

Barboza opened the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by a header from Fadda in the 40th minute after a corner from Bombagi. Although Villasimius reduced the deficit through Tamiozzo in the 18th minute of the second half, Alghero responded quickly. Following a defensive error intercepted by Zirolia, a foul by Piras resulted in a penalty, which Bombagi successfully converted to secure the win.

Despite the victory, Alghero coach Giorico lost both Barboza and Marcangeli to injuries during the match. Alghero's next match is scheduled at the Mariotti stadium against Taloro Gavoi.
