Alghero sports: Basketball Academy debut and Futsal victory

Alghero's sports scene sees significant activity as the Alghero Academy prepares for its debut in the DR1 basketball championship. The Academy is a collaborative project between Pallacanestro Alghero 1986 and Mercede Basket Alghero, designed to revitalize men's basketball in the city. Led by coach Matteo Mastropietro, the team features a young roster with an average age of 20 and will face Olbia in its first match.

In futsal, Futsal Fc Alghero secured a victory in the Serie C1 championship with an away win against Futsal Decimo. Despite a mid-match comeback by the home team that leveled the score at 3-3, the Alghero side maintained composure to secure the win. Key contributors included Deligios, who scored twice, alongside Abbadi, Catogno, and Fois.
